December is here and it only feels like yesterday that I was writing my ode to 2017 post, but this year has felt like a long one. Just me?
It’s been a year of ups and downs (I wrote about that here) and I’m back to doing what I love best – bringing you guys my favourite things of the minute. And what’s more; it’s in the form of a Christmas gift guide. So if you’re still looking for that perfect gift for the man in your life – or even yourself – then you’ve come to the right place.
Oh, hi – remember me?
Yeah, I do still exist. And I’m just whittling away in the background because life has got pretty hectic at the minute.
I’m not gonna lie, this post actually has no purpose. It’s just more of a life update and a little check in on what’s going on at the minute. So sit back, grab a cuppa, relax and enjoy the boring story of, what I like to call, “My life”!
Since becoming Vegetarian about 9 months ago, and Vegan now for around 2 months, I have constantly been asked why I did it! So I thought that I would give you all a little story about how, why and anything else you could think of.
Before I start, I think the saying “Ignorance is bliss” applies to most people that I speak to about it. The majority of people say they totally understand why, they realise what is happening in the meat & dairy industry but choose not to seek information.
And that’s exactly where I began my journey – I actively wanted to learn and make a change for my own life and for the animals.
After recently taking the dive into becoming vegetarian, I have started attempting to be more Vegan. I am constantly searching for new things to try and forever looking at the back of the packet to see whether I can have it. #VeganProblems am i right?
I have began to love educating myself about the industry and delving into making meals for myself so I know for a fact what’s in it. It’s also helping a lot with my bank balance as I am just buying everything that I am certain will last me for the whole week.
My most recent meal (that was banging I’ll have you know) was a Vegan Korma-style curry which included a mild sauce that I added my own spices to.
So there we have it, another year is over and we are catapulted right back to the beginning once again.
2017 is over, been and gone and 2018 has been thrust upon us with such force that it’s time to start thinking of the resolutions that usually get thrown away 2 weeks in (you know I’m right!)
2018 feels different. I woke up this morning – slightly hungover I must add – with an overwhelming sense of determination. I don’t know what it is, or why, but I have feeling this year is the one. I know I say that every single year, but it feels like a fire has ignited inside of me, the fog has cleared from in front of my eyes and I have a proper vision of where it’s all heading.
After reading a postby one of my favourite bloggers, I felt inspired to write down what I have learnt from the past year and what I am taking with me into the new one. Stay with me on this one, it could be long.
I’m currently sat in my comfies, shovelling biscuits down my throat and listening to George Michael all whilst still having a niggling headache. Here goes.
It’s that time of year that warrants a change in your skincare routine, to keep up with battling the elements.
The latest regime that appears on the radar is Proverbwhich incorporates every aspect of cleaning to make sure that your face is fighting fit for the weather we are almost promised to have at this time of year.
The routine comprises of using 4 products in a specific order to keep your skin in peak condition.
‘Tis the season to be jolly. (I’m all festive’d out and I haven’t even put my Christmas tree up yet – yes, seriously!)
Christmas is a time of giving, but that usually means that we forget to treat ourselves. But don’t fret, House of Fraser have come up with a way to help you keep the sparkle in your life throughout the entire present-buying process.
I got to join the team for an intimate dinner (if you follow me on all my social media you might’ve just seen it) and to kick off the festive season in real style. I scrubbed up, headed to the 40th floor of the Gherkin in London and enjoyed a Christmas dinner with some other bloggers – including a cocktail making masterclass and a gift-wrapping extravaganza.
